The contestants on the first episode of The Voice Kids Philippines Season 3 were seriously impressive. But there’s one thing I noticed right away.
The show feels warmer and more nurturing this season, especially now that Gabbi Garcia has joined as the Journey Host.

And at one point, I actually got emotional watching the kids.
So far, Coach Julie Anne San Jose has two kiddie talents, Coach Yeng Constantino has one, while Coach Gloc-9 hasn’t picked anyone yet.
Julie Anne’s two talents are actually siblings, Kara and Georgina Lopez. Ethan Gaspe, meanwhile, joined Team Yengcredibles.
But this is where I realized something.
Yeng Constantino is actually very competitive!
She was fighting for talents against Julie Anne and even Gloc-9. And Julie Anne? She seems more confident and assertive this season.
As for Gloc-9, it feels like he’s still warming up. Maybe he’s letting the two female coaches fight it out first before he makes his move.
But honestly, even though only three talents were chosen in the first episode, I was impressed by all the kids.
Of course, some performances weren’t perfect. Some may have gotten nervous, and maybe some of the song choices didn’t work in their favor.
But you could already see the talent.
You could feel their heart.
And while watching them, my genuine reaction was simply, “Wow, these kids can really sing.”
But wait…
Why did Ethan suddenly pull out that whistle technique? And he’s so young!
I think that’s the first time I’ve heard a young boy do that kind of whistle technique on the show. No wonder all three coaches immediately turned around!
He’s still so young, but he already has a technique like that.
And then came his impromptu duet with Julie Anne San Jose on “My All.”
That song is not easy to sing, but Julie Anne made it look so smooth. I was honestly impressed.
So now I completely understand why Coach Yeng practically collapsed when Ethan chose her team.
Gabbi Garcia as the Journey Host
But let’s talk about Gabbi Garcia as the Journey Host.
She did so well.
She brought a different kind of warmth to the show, especially in her interactions with the kids.
And actually, I think having a Journey Host makes sense for this season.
It would be a lot for Dingdong Dantes to host the show, interact with the kids, and also handle conversations with their families.
Now, the responsibilities are more divided.
Gabbi connects with the kids, while Dingdong remains the main host and handles the families.
And because of that, I feel like the overall vibe of The Voice Kids has become warmer and more nurturing.
It feels like there’s someone whose main focus is making the kids feel comfortable and supported throughout their experience on the show.
And for me, that added warmth is one of the things that stood out most in the first episode.
Do you agree?
Did you also enjoy the vibe of The Voice Kids Philippines more now that Gabbi Garcia is the Journey Host?
