“Wait… is this a pageant or a survival game?”
Each candidate seems to bring her own style to the competition and honestly, it looks like a lot of fun. The teaser promises plenty of rivalry and clashes.
But what caught my attention most wasn’t just the pageant. It was the characters.
A cast with plenty of personality
Shuvee Etrata makes a strong first impression in the opening scene. Her performance feels believable, and she seems comfortable in the pageant world. Her natural delivery makes you think, “Yes, this is someone who would enter a pageant.”
Ahtisa Manalo also has a moment that made me smile. I can’t remember the exact line, but her character’s quirky charm stood out. We know Ahtisa from the real pageant world, so it’s fun to see her play someone more comedic than the image we usually see onstage.
Then there’s Michelle Dee. At one point, she seems to do karate during the talent portion. I had to ask, “Okay, Michelle, what is this?”
And, of course, Herlene Budol is Herlene Budol. She brings the personality we know to the film. Her natural energy and comic timing seem perfect for this kind of movie.
A colorful, energetic look
While watching the teaser, I became curious about how the competition would unfold. With 25 candidates vying for the crown, there could be plenty of unexpected moments.
The visuals also caught my attention. The cinematography features vibrant colors and a lively atmosphere, making the fictional pageant look even more intriguing.
A pageant with real competition
Overall, the teaser makes Red Crown look fun, chaotic, and competitive. With real-life beauty queens and actresses in the cast, I’m curious to see how the movie blends their pageant experience with comedy.
This doesn’t look like a contest about who is simply the most beautiful. These candidates seem ready to fight for the crown.
And that’s what makes me curious to watch.
