AI-assisted animated film Plump Blossom held a special screening at Glorietta 4 in Makati, followed by a talkback with its voice cast and director.
The film is a production of Kapitana Entertainment Media. Rossana Hwang serves as its writer, producer, and director.
Set in a fictional dynasty inspired by ancient China, Plump Blossom follows a warm-hearted princess who secretly learns the art of cooking in the imperial kitchens. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she discovers an injured general hiding within the palace walls. Their encounter sets the stage for a romance that becomes central to the story.
The film combines romance, animation, and a historical-inspired setting while following the developing relationship between its two central characters. The story also brings cooking into the princess’s journey, adding another element to her character and the world of the film.
The principal voice cast includes Candice Tan as Princess Ruo Hua, Don Puno as General Jian, Gutch Gutierrez as Chef Bao, Chad Williams as General Feathers, Yeng Her as Yuan Yuan, and Audie Gemora as the Emperor.
The special screening brought together audiences and members of the team behind Plump Blossom for a closer look at the animated film. It also provided an opportunity to recognize the voice performers who helped bring the film’s characters to life through their performances.
Following the screening, the voice actors and Rossana Hwang took part in a short talkback session. The discussion gave attendees a chance to hear directly from the people involved in the production and learn more about their experience working on the film.
As an AI-assisted animated production, Plump Blossom brings together animation technology, storytelling, direction, and voice performances to create its cinematic experience.
